Steph Doran, BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapist & Accessibility Consultant
Steph Doran is an occupational therapist who has spent most of her career on the practical side of access: assessing homes, workplaces and public spaces for disabled people, advising on equipment, and working out the difference between something that is technically compliant and something that actually works for the person using it. That gap, between a tick-box and a real day out, is exactly what this site is about.
She reviews the guides here for accuracy and safety. Her job is to check that the advice on equipment, transfers, airport assistance, travelling with medical needs and the like reflects sound practice, and to flag anything that could put a reader at risk or set up a false expectation. She does not write the guides and does not endorse any airline, hotel or tour operator named in them. Reviewing an article is not a substitute for individual advice: your own needs, and what is safe for you, are best judged by the professionals who know your situation. Her role is narrower, and useful precisely because of it: to keep the general guidance honest and safe.
